what is fused glass?
Fused glass is created by layering colorful hand cut pieces of glass together, grinding rough edges smooth. The project is then transferred to a kiln and fired to near 1500 degrees to fuse the pieces together. Once cooled, the glass is often fired a second time to slump into the shape desired using a variety of molds.
Hand cut and layer colorful glass together. Some edges need to be ground smooth to remove bumps.
Pieces are fired on kiln shelf.
Flat fused pieces are then slumped into desired shape using molds.
